Impatiens

Impatiens pengklaii
A new species of caudex forming Impatiens from limestone cliff habitat of Karnchanaburi province, Thailand. Defenitely very rare even in Thailand. If you are a collector of caudiciform and like new plants unknown in cultivation, this is a plant for you. Due to the difficulty of obtaining materials, this plant has very limited availability. Branches will be cut in preparation for shipment. These plants have annual branches which die back in dry season leaving just the caudex. The caudex grow naturally exposed among rocks. Like all caudiciform Impatiens, grow them like tropical houseplants rather than succulents, but they require very well drain. I use pumice or grit. Also they are shade loving so do not expose the caudex to direct sun!
